    The family faces

    ‘Experimental graphic design’
When the viewer’s sight angle changes, the face of John Lennon transforms gradually to that of his son Sean Lennon, and then to that of his mother Yoko Ono.
When we see things in space, we generally recognize the entire image by internally building up a collage of the diverse parts that are captured successively by our visual fields. In the case of the work discussed here, each part of one face has similarities and differences to the corresponding part of the other two faces. We can perceive this when we compare each part of their faces and also grasp the overall balance. This work enables the viewers to rediscover and understand how we ‘see’ things.
